That is a lot of money for talking about $100-$150/hr for 3x per week if insurance does not cover it. I have to pay daycare , home mortgage, car payment, and etc. I have cigna PPO, and how do you know the insurance will cover it fully or partially? Does the private speech therapist give you a code or something to give it to insurance to check? A lot of time, I see speech therapist does not take insurance, only cash/check/card.
Speech therapy cannot force your child to talk. It gives them the tools so when they are ready, they will be more successful. If you cannot afford it, you go to a university or county program. Some county SLP's are great but you aren't going to get a few times a week. Some are really bad. Same with private. 2-3 days a week is ideal at age 3 depending on the issue.
