What are the good public schools in NW - Applying out of bounds

Just wanted to add that our neighbor sends her kids to Ross and is very happy with the school. She expects it will get better in the years to come, but you may want to take a look at Ross and/or try to talk to current parents. Good luck.

I also wanted to mention that Shepherd offers fabulous and affordable before/aftercare and summer programs, too!

I just heard that Shepherd was approved for their third pre-k class...does this mean there are now spots available? Anyone have the inside scoop? I wasn't on the waitlist, but if a whold new class opens up- maybe I will go in on Monday.

Just wanted to post because I actually attended Shepherd way back in the 80s, and even then, it was maligned by west-of-the-park parents as second rate. While it may be "second-rate" in raw test scores, it was (and still is according to my parents' neighbors who all send their children there) an excellent place to start your child's education. I'm glad to hear it still has an active PTA and is getting all these new programs. Go Mustangs!!
