I started another thread and did not disclose camp name - my kid is begging not to go today. We compromised with early pick up.

We will not be returning

Just saw your other thread. I wonder if our kids are in the same course because my kid also told me about another camper who brought his Switch. I’m really disappointed because we paid for 3 weeks of this camp and kid doesn’t even want to go.

Their ratios are all off. Today kid texted his older brother (who is home) and begged him to nag me to pick him up early.
There are 25 kids in the group and they have 2 counselors. I picked up early and saw the list of staff / who is covering different activities. They do not have back up floaters to bring ratios down. When your kid is telling you the group is out of control and the counselors do not know how to manage them - it is a problem. My kid actually said he needs to write a letter to his K and 1st grade teachers and apologize for behavior of all 6 year olds.

I let my kid stay home today, after being told several times "I can't spend another day listening to 100 kids scream the entire time." What a disaster.

I teach small coding camps - and I really teach - two spots available next week for beginning website development . But seriously, try some of the smaller ones. I started teaching summer camps to my regular students because the amount of instruction plus the prices plus quality of the course descriptions was insane. I hear mixed on TIC. Maybe check out Boolean Girl for the future?

How is it already November 2023?!
I was researching Lavner now that my son is older (10yo) and indeed disappointed/sad from what I read here, as it looks so promising.
Any updates from 2022 attendees?
Should we continue to look elsewhere?
Thank you in advance!

We did not see this thread beforehand. It’s 2024 and our experience was also meh considering the price.
