I do, I have a chanel foundation that is in a 1 oz size (that's the regular size). |

I have not had to do the whole plastic baggie charade flying within the US in the last 5 years. At some point, it was no longer an issue. It does still matter that the liquid bottles are 3.4 oz or less.
Germany and the UK do still seem to want the baggie. |

I also put foundation and moisturizer in a contact lens case. You can buy a bag full of them cheap at the drug store. One side of a contact lens case will hold foundation for a week (or more). Just squirt in how much you think you'd use every day x the # of days you'll be gone.
I also buy little individual packets of antiperspirant wipes for short business trips. It take up much less room than even a travel size antiperspirant. I buy them on Amazon, and I'm not sure where you can buy them in a store. |
| Am I the only one shocked that OP needs all these products for an overnight trip? I travel for work for several days at a time and don't utilize this much makeup or product. |
Not at all, it totally depends on the trip. Some two-week trips I hardly need any cosmetics. A one-day trip can need a bunch if I'm speaking at a conference or something. She also said she's heading to an event directly from her return flight, so I assume part of it is preparing for that. |
Op here. I have a skin condition (melasma) that requires a lot of makeup to cover up the hyperpigmentation. I don't leave my house without foundation and concealer (I envy people who can). I have long, thick hair that looks best with biosilk before a blowout. I can use hotel shampoo and conditioner as long as I use biosilk. I'm presenting at a national conference and want to look my best, and that requires this sort of stuff. Thx for the tips! |
You can buy antiperspirant/deodorant wipes at Target. I also use makeup removal wipes instead of cleanser when traveling. OP-as long as your liquids are under three oz in a 3 oz or less container, and are in a bag that's easily accessible in your purse/carry-on to grab and toss in a bin with your laptop/iPad/Kindle etc when you go through security, you'll be fine. |
Why don't you have to do it anymore? |
S/he probably has Pre Check. You still need to do it for regular TSA, you don't need to do it for Pre Check. |
| Stick deodorant does not need to be in the 1 quart bag. It;s a solid. |
You still have to have your liquids in a bag, you don’t have to remove them from your luggage. But they don’t seem to pay much attention to it. I still use the bag because every once in a while the precheck line will be closed. |
I have precheck and I've never put anything in a bag. They don't care for precheck. |
I am with you. She doesn't need all of that stuff. I fly a lot and have noticed if you have TSA Pre and/or Clear, TSA doesn't bother you too much about the number of bottles you have as long as they are under 3 oz. At first, they were strict about 3 bottles or less |
I've never heard the 3 bottles or less rule and travel almost weekly. It's basically how many you can fit in your quart size ziploc. Also they don't really care or know how many ziplocs you have. If you put them in separate bins the person looking at the screen has no idea which bins belong to which passenger. |
| Neglected to remove my Ziploc bag from my purse, apologized profusely as I walked thru the scanner, and the guy said, "No problem." DCA, fwiw. |
