Best Place to Stay in Ocean City?

Do you want a hotel or a weekly? Do you want oceanfront or boardwalk? Both?

We stay at the south beach condos at 7th st. They have 4 bedrooms and 3 bedrooms. Will run you $4-$5k a week.

If you don't care about boardwalk, then stay at the Hathaway Grand at 48th st.

Sorry gateway grand.

Isn’t there a new Hyatt opening sometime in Ocean City? Seems like we rode by it on the boardwalk train last summer.

We’ve stayed in the Hilton many years because of the fun kids pool. From the Website, it looks like the Holiday Inn is very similar to the Hilton. We stayed in the Grand many years before the Hilton, and that was fine, although the pool was small and looked out on the road.

If you want to be the belly of the boardwalk beast, rent a condo at the El Cap. Two balconies per unit, lots of beds if you get one with bunks.

You'll likely be shocked by what the nicer hotels charge per night. Check the rates and you might determine its better to rent a condo. You can likely find a 2 or 3 bedroom condo that sleeps 8, and that will be your cheapest option (although it still won't be cheap).

Bonita Beach is a clean and more affordable option (ocean block at 82nd St). I think we paid nearly $300/night.

Thanks all, for the suggestions. I'm shocked at how expensive the "nicer" hotels are - I'm seeing $400-600+/night!

Condos don't seem to be an option for us because most of them appear to require a 1-week stay, for the most part. I haven't found any that work for us.

Looking at these hotels that seem ever so slightly more reasonable & closer to boardwalk:

- Paradise Plaza ($253/night)
- The Grand Hotel ($263/night)
- Spinnaker ($280/night)
- Castle in the Sand ($280/night)
- Days Inn ($240/night)
- Clarion Resort Fontainbleau Oceanside ($263/night)
- Carousel ($195/night)

Any thoughts on these (or better suggestions)?

What's the cheapest hotel in Ocean city?

I have found that the closer you get to the summer season, the better the options for mid-week or partial week stays open up. You could call a couple of the major condo rental agencies and see if they can help you via phone rather than on website. And even if they don't have it now, they can keep your contact and once they find something they will contact you.

Unless you want to stay with heroin addicts, you don't want to stay at the cheapest hotel in OC. Anything nice will run about $500 a night in the summer.

Google mini week rental oceanncity. I know that the Belmont condo does Sun-wed and Thursday-Sunday rentals.

Carousel and Clarion Fountainbleu are nice. They're less expensive because they are further north (away from the boardwalk, which is a good thing IMHO). I've stayed at both.

Curious why you prefer to be farther from the boardwalk?

Look on VRBO, find a place managed by a real estate company then contact them directly to save the service fees. You’ll be able to find something bigger for less money with a condo.

The best place to stay in Ocean City is Cape May.
