Kid friendly Old Town Alexandria restaurants

Oh, great suggestion. Along that line, but not near the metro, is Royal Restaurant. Also, in Shirlington, so a straight down 395 from DC, is Carlyle Grand Café and it is a great place for kids, too, because it is a noise palace.

All good suggestions thus far. I'll add Haute Dog in North Old Town (and TJ Stones next door).

The cafeteria in the Native American museum is great or pack a picnic and eat it in the (indoor) courtyard of the portrait gallery. There’s lot of tables and a cool fountain on the ground kids can play in.

King Street Blues in old town, but they’re closed for renovations for January.
They frequently get tour busses with lots of kids.

Thank you, you lovely DCUMers.

Not quite Old Town, but in nearby Del Ray, Cheesetique is a great option. Everything there is delicious and they have a good kids menu.

Cheesetique is my four-year-old’s favorite restaurant. They have the best Mac and cheese on the kids menu and they always give you a bowl of chocolate chips to end the meal. Older DS loves Lena’s.

Renovating? Do they seriously think that will pull them out of their death spiral?
