hee hee, not only ditching dinner, but also making YOU entertain HIS family. so familiar!! did he come down ever? |
| Give an update |
|
I'd be worried he slipped and hit his head or something.
Update? |
| Next time, quietly slip away to the basement. Find the hot water heater. There are two pipes coming out of the top. One has a valve on it. Slowly turn that valve until it's nearly closed, or you hear him scream, then sneak back up. When his shower suddenly turns cold, he will be out of the shower. Don't forget to open it back up some time later. |
| He's having an affair and was washing off the sex smells. |

I’m OP. Dinner was served an hour and 10 mins after it was ready. His dad made a comment about it but I’m not sure DH even picked up on it.
Frankly I don’t care what he does in there. Never thought to mention he was going to shower. Didnt ask how long til dinner? He just disappears into the shower, for over an hour. To make matters worse, his mother had a massive stroke a year ago. She now has memory & mobility issues and gets hangry when she needs to eat, and he knows this. He still just disappears without any thought right around dinner time. |
I'm sorry OP, but this is a very likely scenario. Isn't it a bit odd to just randomly take an early evening shower and be gone for an hour? Does he hate his parents? Something is up. |
| If he’s anything like my DH, he was taking a crap and playing video games on the toilet. |

That's a dick move of him, OP, but you have a role in this as well. You go up, knock on the door and let him know dinner is on the table in 5 min.
Why the avoidance? Either be angry and address it, or be passive and do nothing. You can't be angry and passive- that gets nothing accomplished. |
| did he have a stroke? |
I love this
|
| are you talking to a lawyer yet? |
| What's up with you? Why did you not go up there, open the door and tell him to get his a$$ downstairs for Christmas dinner? Then serve in five minutes. |
+1 Super passive aggressive OP! |
