| I didn't, but it's been done for decades. Nothing new or shocking. Agree, know what effect it will have beforehand. |
| Whether it makes your kid hyper can be context-dependent. It makes mine sleepy at home, but magnifies their travel excitement so they are hyper on planes with it. Just a warning. |
| Likely wont work. My kids nap like 30 mins on flights regardless of how tired they are. |

Travel during the holidays is a total shit show anyways. Might as well let your toddler stay awake. There were be lots of them (and annoying adults) on the plane. Just suck it up.
Safe travels |
Do you mean Dramamine for sea sickness? That also makes people very sleepy and doesn’t have the common opposite side effect of making kids hyper. I take on planes - can you give it to kids instead of Benadryl? |
| With the white noise from the plane child will most likely sleep anyways. I would definitely not drug my child to help them sleep. If anything get some essential oils (lavender). |
| I'm really displeased by all this casual use of MEDICATION. Not saying it's a gateway or anything, but medication should never be used for your own convenience or recreation. |

I don't remember why we decided to try benedryl a our older child had always slept great on flights. Still we hadn't travel as much with the second kid so I was worried and tried benedryl. We've flown a lot with our kids and this was by far the wort flight of my life. He woke up after 30 min in a full on rage; it was a complete disaster. On the way home i didn't give him anything and he slept the entire 3 hr flight...lesson learned, trust your kid! |
| I can't believe people do this. |

Worked for one daughter, made the other hyper.
