The NIPT is a screen test, not a diagnostic one. Maybe being a little more obsesssed would be good for you since you don’t even know what you’re talking about. |
Wow. You are psycho. I will pray for you to work through your anger issues and for your children. |
Um, okay? That post wasn’t angry. Maybe spend more time on yourself and less policing anonymous posters? |
Awww. It is you, AFP lady. Bless your heart. |
Hi, 15:28, this is the real OP. The test is super accurate with a low false negative rate. I'm sure you are fine. My only concern was if having such a low fetal fraction has a detrimental affect in the second trimester. I can't find any info on that, and my high risk doctor did not show any concern. I guess ignorance is bliss is some situations.

Hi, 10:40, this is the real OP:
Hi, 10:40, this is the real OP. Did you retest? I'm very sure my test would have shown Low Fetal Fraction at 11 weeks. It looks like 3-4% fetal fraction and up renders an accurate screening. I discovered several things: Being overweight, having an autoimmune disorder, and recently exercising can all cause low fetal fraction. The good news is, having too high of fetal fraction seems to be linked to worse things, such as pre eclampsia. I, myself, have Hashitmotos. Perhaps that accounts of my low fetal fraction. My regular OB did not offer this screening in the first trimester. I'm a little confused by that. I have a history of trisomy miscarriage and IUGR. |
You are really weird, PP. I’m not AFP lady. I’m 12:21 and 15:28 from yesterday, that is, basically the only poster who responded to OP with empathy while the rest of you started speculating about this random AFP lady that you’re obsessed with. |
I think people do the test in first trimester because it works from 10 weeks on so most people do it as soon as they can but I don’t think that means there’s anything wrong with doing it later. This whole type of test is relatively new so maybe you’re OB just doesn’t have a typical protocol in place? |
hi OP, this is 10:40. i did a retest at 12w5d and I am waiting for results. My obgyn didn't think anything of the failed test but of course I had to investigate and now I am freaking out. there are several other things that correlate with low FF (at 11-13 weeks at least) such as age and some other stuff. this is the best article I found on the topic http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/uog.15851/full there is a lot of useful info here especially on the tables but it's all about the early testing. So not exactly your situation but as you say it could be related because FF rises over time so yours could have perhaps been low as well in this stage. |
