What has your DH done lately to remind you why you fell in love with/married him?

My 6tr old was drawing a family pic, once finished DH circled my head and wrote " Brain of the family", I know we value each other's input but it was a sweet gesture.

He held my hand while we shopped with our kids for our Christmas tree last weekend. Seems silly, but with two very little kids, going out can sometimes seem more like a chore than a relaxing activity. I don't think we've held hands since they've been born (not that we haven't touched each other, but not really in public since we're always so focused on them). He's an anti-PDA guy, but he knows I like it, so it was just very sweet.

makes me coffee (which he doesn't drink) and brings it upstairs to me in bed. probably because he wants me to get my lazy bum downstairs and help out, but it is given and received with love.

He took very careful and loving care of me when I had surgery recently. He shuttles our kid all over the place and is so good with a teenager (he's the stepdad).

He's a gem.

A few weeks ago I went to a fundraiser organized by a couple who's young son has a very rare disease. The fundraiser was to support research. My DH was not able to attend. The mom, who had never met my husband, came up to me and was teary eyed thanking my husband for not only covering all the expenses for the fundraiser but for contributing another $10,000. I had no idea he had done it and he had asked her to keep him anonymous. He had heard about the child's illness from my son-in-law and simply decided to help. He wanted no credit.....even from me. He's always been incredibly generous and this was a wonderful reminder why he is so dear.

That's amazing and incredibly generous but isn't that a lot to contribute without mentioning it to you? Did that bother you?

PP - it didn't bother me. He's earned a lot of money and has put a lot of it into a charitable trust. I get to contribute from it as well but it's something he always aspired to do.

Agree, my DH wants nothing to do with my mother and frankly he has good reason.

I don’t have a lot of patience when it comes to my 65yr old step mom and technology. My dad was huge into tech and she just never needed to know how to do anything when he was alive. DH spent an hour explaining things to her on her phone and computer and was so patient and sweet. When we pulled out of the driveway I got a text from her saying how much she liked him.
