They're only just beginning to admit there's a gang problem ... Are you KIDDING me? |
Here's what Bethesda magazine reports about the alcohol distribution issue from the 6 way debate between the candidates. Too bad that the county has borrowed against the revenues generated by the agency.

The Council members like Berliner are all talk. They never actually pu tforward proposals -- Frick did. I agree there's a mess with tying bonds to DLC revenue and it's the County COunil that voted for that, so no Coouncil member running for CoExec will get my vote. Actually, I'm not affiliated with a party so I can't vote in the primaries anyway since MoCo doesn't have open primaries. The next CoExec will be chosen by a fraction of the voters in the county, who are registered democrats and turn out for the primary in an off-presidental election year. |
This is precisely what I'm talking about when I say that Leventhal is the most up to speed on things. The others are just pandering without realizing the impact or having all the pertinent information. |
Please let it be anyone who doesn’t hyperfocus on ONLY SILVER SPRING AND WHEATON. 5 posh rec centers being built in those towns while Bethesda gets nothing but more high rise development. Modern schools there with special programming while Poilesvilles high school should have been in the crapper a decade ago. |
Anyone that supports any kind of continuation of the DLC should retire or go mess up someone else’s county. If they would stop recruiting and rolling out the red carpet for illegal aliens to come live here (schools to teach them, casa funding, rec centers nicer than any others in the county) maybe they could balance the books. I assume these politicians get kickbacks from the businesses that receive the cheap labor while it’s the citizens paying for all of this. Honestly it’s like they all think that families who don’t live in Wheaton or Silver Spring have an endless supply of money coming from a huge mythical fountain. The reality is that we’re working long hours, commuting long hours, paying a huge amount in taxes and not getting a lot for it. We have to keep refinancing our home just to not go bankrupt but MoCo never gets enough from you - and geezus when you refi they take thousands in tax stamp fees - they get your money st every turn but it’s never enough for MoCo. |
No - no way. Leventhal is the same old corrupt tax and spend disaster. No. |
+1 Just announced - deficit for budget year due to decreased tax revenue and increased spending. What a surprise! http://www.bethesdamagazine.com/Bethesda-Beat/2017/Montgomery-County-Must-Revise-Current-Budget-Due-to-Unexpected-Revenue-Shortfall/ |
That’s a shame. Elrich does not deserve to be tarred with the same feathers. He often was the only opposing vote on the Council. Former teacher in MCPS. Go meet him / listen to him. He was the only politician to show up and offer to help when our neighborhood was having issues with the Destruction Board (aka Planning Board). |
| I cannot stand Leventhal or Berliner. Berliner did not represent his constitutents very well and is in the pockets of developers. He's very upfront about it. Maryland and Montgomery County need open primaries. |
I live in silver spring and am thrilled that my area.finally got some love. Just because we have to deal with all the lower inc one folks and high crime doesn't mean we shouldn't get something nice. You guys have the good school's, low crime, and places to go out and eat. All we have is this wonderful diversity and natural immersion programs. I am tired of the illegals too and will bite for whoever has.a.plan to.stop them. But don't make the rest of our legal community suffer when the west county has so much. |
Barely. And these idiot voters keep crying about taxes and schools and this and that but they vote the same crap in every time. So beyond stupid. The tax dollars are leaving with the we'll to do earners moving, six on my steet alone this year. How will they keep paying for stuff with the taxpayers leaving? We have a 120 million dollar budget shortfall. Another democrat will raise taxes again and more will leave. |
I like Elrich too (thought I am not sure I will vote for him). I am sceptical that Frick has any real constituency. He raised $200k to run for Congress and then as soon as Trone got in that race, decided what he really wanted was to be county executive.

Clearly you aren't paying enough in taxes yourself if you still live there. Time to up the rates again. |
