No, but she just plays a corrupt politico on TV. |
But she clearly did a quiet favor, with major economic benefit, for someone who somehow had her ear. |

Wait you think a Republican is more likely to protect trees? This post is essentially made up of people who are upset that Cheh allegedly helped a developer get around a regulation to protect mature trees. Please point me to a Republican lawmaker who would favor this type of regulation? |

Subtitle M. Tree Canopy Protection Amendment Act of 2017: amends the Tree Canopy Protection Amendment Act to allow removal of a heritage tree on residential property for which a District resident has a building permit application, which is subsequently approved, for a single- family home that contemplates removal of the heritage tree pending as of October 1, 2016.

The developer got its approval thanks to Cheh's shady scheme, and avoided paying a statutory fine for tree removal of almost $40,000. Sweet. I assume that the developer's contribution to Cheh was much smaller, so it was a great ROI for this crony. |
Most Republicans who live in DC I think you would find very moderate. They care about trees and kids and their neighbors. We will never know how they would legislate as few bother to run knowing none will get voted in. So we get the same diet year after year, and find out our socialist friends are crony politicos who have nothing to worry about as there is zero competition for votes. |

An R would have less than zero chance of winning any race in the District right now and probably for the next generation, given what we are seeing out of the GOP right now.
