Same. You can donate a game or book to the classroom. |
Our FCPS also does not allow cupcakes due to number of children with various food allergies. If you want to do something, they recommend donating a book for the class. DD really enjoyed picking out a few books for her class. |
Same in my kids' FCPS classes. I really like this option, as do the kids. The teachers invited me to come in and read one of the books aloud to the class before they were donated. |
Those 2 bit cupcakes from Whole Foods are great for the little ones. They also have a school safe brand that has cookie bars. |
| Totally depends on teacher/school. My FCPS 3rd grader took in full-sized donuts to pass out at lunch (all the same). |
| FCPS. No food for birthdays at any grade level. It’s apparently an allergen thing. |
That's not true. |
It is true at some FCPS schools. |
| Take, people, take. You don’t bring anything anywhere. |
I'm curious if you understand the issue isn't allergies. The issue is it's disruptive and the kids don't need to be wound up on sugar 25-30 times a year when learning is supposed to be happening. |
| It is different from school to school. Ours allows treats, yet our neighboring schools do not. |
| My moco school celebrates bday every month. You contribute when it is your child's month. |
| Our APS doesn't allow it. Ask the teacher. |
So, then, what is "bring" for? Curious. |
It’s for you to tell someone to bring it to you. You can’t bring anything yourself. Bring and take go in opposite directions. |
