My seven month old Aussie/Borgi mix does this literally every time I walk somewhere in the house except she is touching the back of my heel. No matter what time of day or what I am doing, she will sprint across the house just to follow me and boop my heel as I walk. It is starting to be a nuisance because she's still a bit clumsy and nine times out of ten she steps on me and we get tripped up.

My 3 year old maltipoo does this. So cute.

It's like a person patting you on the arm - i have standard poodles that do this all the time

She wants something. Mine does it with food.

My toy poodle does this. She tends to do it when she wants me to speed up because she wants something. She'll do it when I announce we are going for a walk and I'm heading to get her leash. And she'll do it when I announce it is dinner time and I'm heading for the kitchen. I think it's cute.

I have a Labradoodle and when I walk anywhere in the house, she follows me and periodically gently bumps her nose to my calf. The only thing I can think of is that this is maybe herding behavior, but she is not part shepherd. What’s going on? It’s cute but also driving me slightly nuts!

She wants a pet. Give her one.

Mine too. When it’s dinner time, my dog gently nudges me toward the closet that contains his kibble. If your dog is doing it on walks, she’s probably either excited or telling you she loves you.

My mixed breed pup does this when she's excited (we are getting her food ready, getting ready for walks, etc).

It means hurry up mama. My Lab does it when I’m walking over to feed him.
