There was a shakeup there a few years ago - a bunch of the stylists are now upstairs at Salon Bleu.

I like the shattered bob pics. I'll also second PR @ Partners in Tysons, Lauren in particular.

And what does this look like, a bob?

I'm thinking a shattered bob, like this? No idea if this ranks as hipster. https://www.pinterest.com/explore/shattered-bob/

I did'n't know that haircut had a name - I always just thought it was a long layered bob - but most moms i know have some variation of that haircut. I got one, thinking it was trendy, and then noticed that I had the same haircut as everyone else!! I just finally got all those awful layers out of my hair. It is anything BUT hipster hair.

Current hair is just a simple long bob - so. much. better.

And just like everyone else...So funny that people on this site criticize hairstyles as being so common...and yet have the same do as everyone else.

You are not going to get a hipster haircut at the mall in Virginia.

Not sure what you're getting at - I never said my current hairstyle is not common. Just that I like it better. And woohoo, I don't have the same haircut as all the mothers at my child's school. I am NOT kidding. Take a drive through North Arlington or Falls Church City and you'll see the "shattered bob" cut everywhere. It's like mom hair for women who don't want mom hair! Which means it is definitely not cool anymore and it sounds like OP wants cool. I did NOT say that my current hairstyle is cool though
