Prep boys spend more time studying compared to Gonzaga boys so that makes sense.

There's only one social event st Georgetown Prep with the SR girls in freshman year. After that I'm unaware of any more things at Georgeyiwn Prep.

There are dances at Stone Ridge once or twice a year after that where local boys schools and girls schools are invited .

What a stupid comment.

I'm not PP but my observation is that SR girls spend a lot less time with Prep boys than Visi girls spend with Gonzaga. Not sure why but that's just how it is. Gonzaga is decidedly less academic than Prep, but Visi has similar levels of academics to SR.

Upon what do you base this comment?

Both Gonzaga and Visi seem to let students in based on parish quotas and not necessarily academic achievement and test scores.
Prep is intensely academic and very competitive to get in (test scores, grades, legacy). SR is closer to that in that if you can't do the work they don't accept you , whereas Visi has a scaled down degree that you can get if you can't do the regular level of work - there's a college preparatory diploma and a general diploma. The general diploma involves fewer credits earned and you can have less than a 2.0 GPA.
Both schools have rigorous coursework if you want it.

I have no experience with SR, although it seems like a great school. PP is completely incorrect about Gonzaga and Visi. I'm not sure why people feel the need to tear down other schools (with no actual basis) in the process of providing information about their own kids' school. It's incredibly juvenile.

I have close friends whose kids are at visi and Gonzaga. Nothing is 'way off base' and nor is it a ' tear down' of those schools.

Why is it that every thread about Stone Ridge ends up with multiple posts criticizing Visitation, and then Gonzaga? It’s crazy predictable.

And says much more about SR than either of the other schools.

Haven't had a kid at SR in years, but had kids at multiple schools until recently.

Why do people get alll butt hurt over school differences? Having a range of abilities at a school is not necessarily a criticism. Some people look for that in a school. Also, including kids who have learning disabilities at a school is NOT a criticism.

If I had to do it over again I'd send my girls to Holy Cross because they include special needs students at their school.

We found SR very welcoming when we joined middle school. There is a mentor program for new families, which was helpful and welcoming. Our experience was that families and girls were friendly. DD made new friends easily (with new and old SR girls) and was invited to join friends for play dates, etc. Some weekends we get together with SR friends, other weekends just neighborhood friends. Lots of fun SR events, for parents and kids. DD not interested in boys, so I can't help there. I know not everyone is, but we've been very happy at SR.

Same with me. My kids go elsewhere but I know many students who are nice kids but not academic superstars and they did well at Visi and Gonzaga. I'm sure there are a few weak students at every top school but it's silly to try and say that Prep and Gonzaga are the same academically. For one thing, Gonzaga is much larger and takes a much more diverse group of kids - you can tell just by looking at the range of colleges these boys end up attending. Nobody is saying it's bad, just that it's less academic in general. Do smart kids who end up at good schools go there? Of course they do! But as a percentage of the class they are in the minority, whereas a school like Prep sends a much larger percentage to the most competitive colleges.

I've never seen a prior SR thread that led to Gonzaga or any other boys' school criticism before this one

But I have seen countless threads in which parents at any number of schools tear down other schools -- and it goes all ways, certainly not exclusive. There are boosters of many schools that don't realize it's counter-productive and I'm often amazed they think they will be seen as having any credibility about schools other than those their own children attend. Just doesn't make sense. But I suppose the OP here did ask for a direct comparison . . .

No one is tearing down your favorite school and no one is even a parent at the school.
You're a huge drama queen that can't be reasoned with. You be you!

Just to clarify - the question mark at the bottom is a smiley face.....before someone has a stroke

No one cares...

G'Prep has a new Supreme Court justice this year and also a new Federal Reserve Chairman nominee. It's a school where kids go on to
Ivy League schools and high level careers . There is much awareness there of a kids future.

Also, read the thread about SJC - interesting read about both SJC and Gonzaga

My son goes to Prep. They do very little with SR other than dance invites. I wouldn’t necessarily call SR a sister school because of the lack of coordination of activities between the two schools.

Does your daughter mind being in an all girls school or would she rather have a co-ed education ?
