To an earlier PP, if there are severe interfering behaviors they can switch placement quicker than other programs. Different people interpret that differently- some feel it is for the best while others get upset.

OP- do you think just a different teacher would be enough or do you feel that your child needs a more restrictive placement? Big difference. You will not get a change of school just for a new teacher.

Most issues actually arise during specials. His teacher is fantastic and there is no better match at the school.

My kid had a lot of trouble in specials. The school let her go back to the main classroom if she had trouble in specials. Also you need to make sure the special teachers know what is in the BIP and that they do it. A lot of times the school just doesn't give them the information they need.

You've gotten some good advice, especially from 21:43. In addition to the other good advice, I suggest you email the teacher/principal and ask for a specialist in due process attend all meetings. In FCPS, this would be the procedural support liaison. She will be an excellent resource to have when discussing adherence to BIP and 504/IEP. I would specifically reference the incidents with your DS being sent to the office and suspension.
