We signed on to agree to take up to two kids, ages 0-4. By this I mean that we were willing to take two siblings who were both under age 4. We clarified this with the social worker after our training.
We were called within a week. It was for a newborn baby and a toddler sibling. Such sweet and precious babies. The social worker explained that very few foster families will take TWO babies. I was a SAHM, so it was not a big deal to add these wonderful babies into our family life. It was only a couple weeks after these babies left us that the social worker called asking if we could take two siblings ages 18 months and 3 years old. Again, they had no families willing to take TWO babies/toddlers. Please consider agreeing to take two, if you can. This way, these siblings stay together. Sooo important for them. |
