DC Paid Family Leave Law At Risk of Repeal....

Was a poorly considered, poorly analyzed piece of feel good legislation passed by a DC Council that has absolutely no practical business experience. Requires the creation of a new DC bureaucracy to administer it and we all know how wonderfully efficient the DC government is.

I'd be happy to see them replace it with something more comprehensive.

Tax payers do not pay into this account for the benefits. Only the companies with employees working in DC.

We definitely pay if we become a completely business unfriendly environment or bankrupt our own businesses

Or the businesses in DC will just raise prices even more.

It's a well intentioned but horribly designed bill, and I hope it gets repealed.

agreed its really poorly written. We shouldn't pay for non residents to have leave.

But why should companies who locate in the district (which we need) have to pay for leave for non DC residents? Its penalizing employers who may choose to not expand or locate in DC.

So - if I live in DC - my employer is in VA - but I am required to telework so I work in DC - do I qualify?

Sent .64 off every dollar to Md/Va. Are the citizens in DC really that stupid? Apparently the answer is yes.
