Mean Girls (the Musical)

Think this will be appropriate/over-her-head for my 12 yo DD? She's been to musicals like Wicked but hasn't seen the movie. She did see Legally Blonde recently and loved it.

I plan on taking my 12 year old to see it. We caught bits of the movie and I need to show her the entire movie but I think she'll be fine.

Saw it last night and loved it. Great music and choreography, nonstop energy, lots of fun and very true to the movie!

I saw this last week with my 13 yr DD. We both enjoyed it, although my 13 yr old enjoyed more than I did (she was absolutely thrilled with it). I was glad that I decided not to take my 10yr old DD. There's lots of innuendo (subtle and not-subtle).

The movie is rated 14+ and the musical is far more sexual than the movie. So base your decision on how comfortable you are with your kids watching humping on stage, references to teens having sex and subtle reference to needing to clean up ejaculate, lots of teen drinking and drunkenness.

I loved it; but my 14 year old is fairly socially immature and not ready for this one.

It was really, really good. And I say that as a straight man whose DW dragged him along.

I predict that this will be a massive success on Broadway. They stick to the general story line and some of the best quotes from the film, but still keep it fresh and original. The set design is fantastic, plus all the young actors knocked it out of the park.

Oh wow. I'm glad I read this. I have a 13 yr. old who *LOVES* the movie, and I was considering taking her to this. However, I think the movie is borderline inappropriate, so I really don't think she needs to see this at her age.
