Finding info on class size

DD's ES (W feeder school) kindergarten class had 27 kids and no assistant. DD loved her class and her teacher but it definitely wasn't ideal.

The teacher relied heavily on parent volunteers. I was in her class one day a week (every week) for five hours. It was exhausting but I knew that she REALLY appreciated the extra hands and having someone who worked well with the kiddos.

Good grief! That's an over-and-above reliance on parent-volunteers. What is wrong with this country? We really don't care as much about education as we are constantly telling ourselves we do.

Kudos to you and other parents who volunteer. Just curious, is there any kind of training or orientation parents have to do before they can volunteer?
