Then again, it's in the city and cities are busy. Maybe I won't even notice it? Thoughts? Would this turn you off?

If there's a chance this will be an issue for you, pass. There are so many other houses out there and selling is a hassle.

I'd say the same. Honestly the homes with the highest values in my side of the cities are right ON traffic circles. So I can't say much...

Or even a small child.

What if dog, cat or child gets out - just once?

Also, take white noise over intermittant noise.

Around the front of your yard? And you can still hear over it, especially on the second level. Some people don't want that boxed in feeling a privacy fence gives.

A fence would be unsightly and wouldn't make much of a dent in the noise.

gives.

What county? Fairfax county has some unglued self ascribed corner police who will complain about anything - ESPECIALLY fences and trees on corner lots.

I grew up in a corner house that had a 2-way stop. I really never noticed it particularly.

Even with my white noise machine, the bass from car stereos disrupt my sleep all night.

4 way stop in DC is pretty much a suggestion...I'd be more worried about the crashes that result from everyone swerving to avoid stopping!

And why would having a stop sign be worse for pets or children?

If you are assuming that stop signs are only on busy streets there is no correlation in DC whatsoever - on most side streets in the city you have a stop sign controlled intersection at least every other block and in most neighborhoods on every single corner.

Not allowed in DC which seems to be where the OP is looking.

We live at a 4 way stop in the city. This "issue" has never even crossed my mind. We have kids and pets. Wtf people?
