Standard cabinet response to presidential bloviation: "The president speaks for himself." LOL |
He can't fix shit so far. |
Trump lies constantly. Why do we believe anything he says? I feel so awful for all the affected people. |
So much for his claim that action with Congress is unconstitutional. These fools can't keep their story straight for five hours! |
What are you blabbering about? |
What the pp is "blaberring about" is the trump/trumpettes talking from both side of their mouth. If congress does not act and a certain black president acts to move the country forward that is executive outreach. When certain old white man says he would back track the progress and again threatens to react the same thing if congress again sits on their responsibilities, then trumpettes see no issue at all. Hypocrisy, thy name is conservative trumpette! |
I'm not OP. But we passed an immigration reform bill in the Senate in 2013 in a bipartisan manner. The details of a decent plan are in there. |
Trump just said that he would fix DACA if Congress didn't. The only tool he has is an executive order. But according to Republicans this is unconstitutional. |
FIFY |
FFS. Read what the original poster on this thread wrote...."So much for his claim that action with Congress is unconstitutional” Action with Congress? Unconstitutional? And, he didn’t say he would fix it. He said he would revisit it. You have no clue what that entails. Y’all are getting your panties in a bunch for no reason. |
Ummm. Sessions has said Trump doing it be unconstitutional. The AG under Obama said no such thing. Do you not understand the significance of this and how it totally undermines Trump's executive power? I guess not. |
Oops. Sorry. I reread and we are in agreement. Sorry. Need to get some coffee. |
Obviously the Congress part was a mistake. Trump has no tool to use if an EO for this isn't constitutional. So his revisiting is either useless or he is planning on doing something his AG has declared unconstitutional. So which is it? Empty promises or acting in an unconstitutional way? |
What is interesting is that Obama also said SEVERAL TIMES that if he took action on it, it would be unconstitutional. Here is one such statement:
https://www.rollcall.com/news/obama_i_am_not_a_king_on_deportation_policy-222046-1.html When he didn’t get his way, he decided that he was a king after all. |
So, you are saying that what the first poster on this thread wrote doesn’t make sense. I agree. By “revisiting,” he is not saying he will take an unconstitutional EO. Sessions made it clear that is not possible. |
