We get it, you don't like American cars. Astoundingly unhelpful to this woman in her current situation.

The white smoke is coolant. If you're lucky, you've got a hose leak that is easily repaired. If you're unlucky, you have a heater core problem.

Either way, it needs to be checked out and may or may not have anything to do with the previous problem.

If the car overheats again, turn the ac off, turn the heat on high, and open the windows. That will cool it some, pull over as needed to keep it from going full blown as you do not want to cause further problems.

A ford is fine.
