| Yes at least 5 pounds. I found The 5 back to back cycles I put myself through we're hell on me in every conceivable way- part of the weight gain was stress related. Plus the pregnancy and miscarriage and three months of waiting to get to zero hcg... i also feel out of shape and my stomach is just kind of always bloated... |
| 15 lbs. 2 cycles and transfers and a 3rd long unsuccessful cycle with no baby resulting from any cycle - just baby weight. It sucks. |
| Yes. I want to say it was about ten pounds. |
| Yes, but it wasn't a whole lot. |
| 8lbs. I blame the progesterone. When I stopped that I lost about 15lbs immediately. |
| No, I didn't. I had one cycle and had a pretty basic/straight forward protocol based on unex if dx. |
| Yes, I have more cravings and my appetite got bigger. It's a heightened PMS for me. |
|
Yes - I was about 5 lbs heavier when I finally got pregnant than my pre-IVF weight.
19 months post-partum and it just all came out. |

Yes - the first time I took progesterone for a transfer, I was ridiculously ravenous and wanted to eat everything all the time, so I know that for that period of time I ate way more that I usually do. With the reduced activity, I ended up gaining about 6 pounds or so. I'm still going and seem to have leveled off and am not gaining more. I've done 4 cycles now.
There can also be a lot of bloating on the stims, but that goes away soon after egg retrieval. |
| About 30 lbs. I have been on hormones for most of the last 12 months straight for 3 IUI cycles and 1 full IVF with eggvretrieval and 2 FETs. |
| In my first and only IVF cycle I had an exaggerated response to injections and my stomach blew up to accommodate the fluid from 30 damn eggs my ovaries produced. I looked 8 months pregnant instantly and I feel like it never really went back - transitioned straight to pregnancy weight gain. Plus I could only eat carbs for a bit, and it just took off from there. Still 15 pounds overweight, honestly. |
| Not sure why anyone is worried about this. We want to get pregnant, and you will get fat when pregnant, everybody does for the most part. |
Yes to weight gain. I did 8 cycles and probably gained 15 or so lbs. And i think poster above is being harsh. |
Umm, but we don't always get pregnant. I didn't. And it's a bitter pill to swallow when you've gained weight from hormones and because you've been told not to exercise right after a transfer (or like me who went through acupuncture and was told exercising for weeks BEFORE the transfer could mess with hormones so didn't do it). If you're pregnant on the first try, no biggie but for those who went through multiple cycles with/without transfers, gaining weight is adding insult to injury. If I was a fat pregnant woman, I wouldn't care and would be happy as a lark. But I am not.

+1. The progesterone also made me put on weight extremely fast during the first trimester. |
