| We are at wayside ...lots of parent involvement...some snobby parents and some cliquish parents but overall a very warm environment ...did not seee any extravagant cars in carpool many SUVs though...oh and my house is about600k |
Bwahahahahaha, ridiculousness at its most vapid. |
Most of those houses? Entire neighborhoods? All of Bedfordshire is gone? The neighborhood on the other side of Glen? The lots aren't that big in either area. Country Place had bigger lots if I recall but nicer, more expensive houses than the other areas. When we were at Wayside there was an active PTA and lots of parent involvement. |
See what I mean? Green with envy. Why would anyone want to trash a perfectly fine grade school? Because they hate rich people. |
That's interesting. I always figured that the Wayside trolls and the Beverly Farms trolls are people who aren't happy at Wayside/Beverly Farms. Otherwise who would bother to troll DCUM about one of the 133 elementary schools in MCPS? The only reason I even know where Wayside is, is because my kid had orchestra rehearsals there one year. |
Hi PP, so are parents allowed to volunteer on the playground at recess time? We are looking to move into hoover cluster for my older child, and now are searching for houses in either wayside, beverly farms, but not potomac ES, bcse they will be moving out into the radnor holding center. Does beverly farms allow parents on the playground, and other parents interaction? Unfortuately, where we are now, that is not allowed. |
Rich people? LOL, now that's rich.

+1 I'm a current parent of two DCs at Wayside and agree. Both DH and I have volunteered a number of times during recess and class/school sponsored activities (e.g., class parties, field trips, play/field day, etc.) and there is a lot of parent involvement and an active PTA. |
http://maryland.hometownlocator.com/schools/profiles,n,wayside%20elementary,z,20854,t,pb,i,1052448.cfm Please tell us exactly where all these 2 million dollar homes are? Clagett Farm and Potomac Glen do not have any 2-3 milliondollar houses. Even Palatine (which feeds to Potomac) has few in that range. |
Wow, that's a bunch of BS. We live in the Wayside district and I promise my house didn't cost anything close to $2-3 million. Most of the homes, except Claggett and Potomac Glen are in the $600,000-$850,000 range. Even the ones in Clagett and Potomac Glen don't come close to $2 million. What a bunch of fabricated garbage. In addition, when my kids were at Wayside there was LOTS of parental involvement-not nannies. |
| Drive down Glen Road or off Falls - plenty of 2M plus homes. I'm sure there are a few homes at 600-800K, but they are few and far between. Wayside is an extremely wealthy place. No shame in that. It is what is. Anyone tying to sell you a different story is simply lying. |

The homes over 1.4 are on very large lots. By definition, they are the ones that are few and far between. The neighborhoods are $700-$1mm, with a few a little over here and there, if they are updated. Clagatt Farm and Potomac Glen have 1.2-1.4 mm houses. Some streets off Piney Glen and Glen Mill have more expensive houses, but there just aren't many of them. OP, Wayside has an active and welcoming PTA. If you are organized and reliable, they are very happy to have your help. Parents can assist at recess, lunch (opening thermoses, etc), class parties, field trips, and Play Day/Field Day. They can also help in the office by making copies, etc. Teachers rarely, if ever, have parents helping in the classroom on a day to day basis, though. Teachers host a thank you breakfast for parent volunteers each June. |
| Stop sandbagging, PP. A few multi million dollar houses here, a few there. The minority of Wayside families live in sub one million dollar homes. I know, I am one of them. There are only a few of us out here. |
Again, a ridiculous comment. Both kids went through Wayside and NONE of their friends lived in multi-million dollar house. Writer is obviously a troll who does not know that Wayside is surrounded by very old neighborhoods with homes 3000ft or smaller and priced well under a million dollars. Most homes priced in the million dollar range are in Clagett and Potomac Glen. |
