As someone who wears glasses, they scream this is not my primary means of vision. I'm going to guess that she wears contacts primarily and these are her fun glasses.
If I had a lot of money, I would have multiple pairs of glasses for different moods. That would be fun. Also, I'm guessing she has a simple prescription -- if I was to wear glasses that size with my lens prescription, I'd probably need a neck brace. |

I got black frames with a smaller rectangular shape and got so many compliments but they sure weren't me- not on the daily... and when my other, more inconspicuous pair broke and I was stuck wearing these day in day out... ugh... also gave me a huge blind spot when shoulder checking.
I also agree you have to be able to believable pull off 'sexy nerd' and though I am sexy and also nerdy I'm not 'sexy nerd'. |

Her's are a thicker frame than mine, but I have something that's similar as my every day, wear to work glasses. On weekends I wear contacts 75% of the time. I love my glasses, but I also work in the tech industry so rocking the nerd look works. If you like them, go for it.
But I will say I don't think her glasses fit her face at all. I don't like having the eye so far at the top of the lens like that. Glasses look better a bit more centered around the eye. |

I like her glasses a lot.
I have a feeling the bold/nerd glasses trend will be ending soonish - like skinny jeans eventually going away. Boo to losing both those things, because I am a fan. |
| i just got my first pair of glasses and totally got big black frames. they are bold...but I like them. mine have a touch of gold on them too...Valentino's. They're my only pair and I don't have contacts, although my vision isn't terrible without glasses yet. |
| This is a several years old trend. In fact the trend is kind of over now and is being replaced by clear frames. |

My glasses are very similar, except the inside is pink. I love them. They're my everyday glasses. I see people in similar glasses all the time. Maybe I notice them more because I wear similar glasses, but they're not unique or uncommon.
I say go for it if you try them on and like them. |

OP - this is my worry too. Usually I wear contacts, so if I am going to wear glasses they might as well be fun. |
I think skinny jeans/slim cut pants are always sort of in - sometimes more so than others, but that cut can look really classic. |
That ugly phone operator on Laugh-In. |
My face just looks better with thick plastic frames, so this will be my style even when wire rims are back "in." My personality & job description fit the sassy nerd look, so it's ok.
These are my current frames: https://www.gooptic.com/gant-g-vincent-eyeglasses-gvincent/p/157922 |
PP again - I don't know your budget, but maybe you can get a pair of Warby Parkers that are sort of similar. They are very well priced for glasses, and I think look good - and if in a year or two you're sick of them, so be it. https://www.warbyparker.com/eyeglasses/women I'm on my 4th or 5th pair of Warbys and have been happy with them. They've held up just as well as the more expensive glasses I used to buy. |
| She kind of looks like Groucho Marx here. Don't do it, OP. |
| OP, you should post a picture so people know what you're talking about. You're starting the conversation, you should do the legwork so people can easily give the opinions you're asking for. |
