3 years and 2 month.
Been wanting to break my own record, but the nature of contracting jobs just won't allow me. |
13y in the same role at the same organization. I just took on a new role.
4 years. Trying to hang in there until I have another kid due to generous maternity leave benefits.
Just celebrated 9 years at my current organization, never thought I'd be here this long but the place has been good to me. Lots of changes over the last year have me thinking of leaving soon however.
I'm coming up on 16 years at a large consulting company. I have lived in 3 cities, worked in a variety of industries and done commercial and federal work. Now I have a cushy internal gig where I make great money and work from home 4 days a week. I feel like I have had a dozen different jobs without having to interview. I can foresee myself staying another 5-8 years while my kids are in school.
Looking back at my career, it appears that I was changing positions about once every 3 years or so for the first 15 years. Now I'm stuck in the same job for life...
Nearly 8 yrs, but 3 different positions. Starting to gain historical knowledge has I'm one of the last "orginals" at our site. Im finding this to be great leverage negotiating a bonus/pay raise.
17 years moved up until no wear else to go in my department. So moved on to a new job..been there 4 years and I don't know how much longer I can last. Wish I had stayed and just worked at the same level.
7 years at the same job, but it's a nonprofit with a range of grants, so while I'm in the same position I've had a variety of issues to tackle, which keeps me from getting bored. I hope to retire here.
16 years with the same organization in the same position. Painted myself into a corner and not sure how to leave. Stuck around because I like my work and thought it was best to stay put while having babies rather than jump ship. And now I feel stuck: underpaid, under appreciated, and unsure where to look for something new that won't be more stressful than what I'm already dealing with.
3.5 years in one position, same amount of length for company too.
23 years - same job and same boss!
+1 on this -- I am comfortable and the work-life balance is ideal. That's why I don't/won't jump ship. Plus there's a pension. |
7 years has been my longest. It was 2 yeas too long. But I kept getting promoted.
Almost 9 years at my last company. Got promoted every 2-3 years. 3 years at this company. Will probably try to stay at least 1-2 more years. Growing here will be hard but flexibility is great and pay is decent.
