Christians, do you hate the phrase "believe in"?

How about: I follow Jesus. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life and I know that to be true.

I think that sounds arrogant. The majority of the world does not believe in Jesus, and it's like you're saying you know better than most people. I'd stick with "believe in."

It only sounds arrogant if you're defensive about the issue and are looking for an argument.

Besides, the truth is the truth. That the majority of the world does not "believe" it is irrelevant.

yeah -- they'll just burn in hell anyhow. Who cares what they think.

Oh, I care very much. I care because "they" are following false religions, which is quite tragic.

From your perspective, other religions are "false." That doesn't necessarily make it so. Isn't there a iota of possibility that G-d accepts people of religions other than Christianity, and that yours is not the only "true" one? That there are many paths to G-d, other than only the one you have chosen? After all, doesn't Hagee talk about the dual covenant (involving Jews), in which they will go to Heaven if they do good deeds?

Fwiw, lots of Christians, like me, agree with you that people can be in the right path following other religions (or none). It extends beyond Jews, too.

PP here. Thanks. And yes, I do know that many Christians agree that there are many paths to G-d, but always nice to hear! (And I didn't mean to imply just Jews. All good people can be on the right path, and they don't have to even believe in G-d.)
