ISO: Autism Evaluation

Have evaluation done by Early Stages. They were great with us. I have to say that we were not getting any response or appointment until we pulled some strings....We go to Kidslanguage arts for languages with my older one and Tomatis method for DS, and the owner knows a few people and she was able to have us in for evaluation and got approved for in school services very quickly. They diagnosed him and his therapist comes twice a week. We also do additional therapy outside of Early stages but they’ve been really helpful.

Agreed, we really liked their services and they're free!

Don’t you have to live in DC to use them?

At 8, OP’s child is too old for Early Stages. That’s just what it’s called in DC—every state has a version of this by law.

This thread is over a year old. Presumably OP found a place.

Kingsbury Center. Pay out of pocket. It's worth it. Don't fool with DCPS.

As long as your child attends a school or daycare on DC, you’re eligible for the services. My daughter is in dc daycare but we live in Fairfax and her therapist comes twice a week for free.
