VDOE Change the name from "NOT ACCREDITED/ACCREDITED WITH WARNING TO PARTIALLY ACCREDITED. IF a school fail to score above an 70% on Math,Science, Social Studies sol scores and 75% ON THE English sol. As it says its says primarily so it might chance, and it able on the fcps internal website

You don't sound like you've passed the English SOL yourself.

I did I passed the Writing sol and Reading sol.

Reading SOL I passed the first time. The writing sol I did pass in my Senior year after retaking it. I think I took 4 times in total, but I know a lot about accreditation. I also know that passing sol on the sol exam is about an 50%

If they score between 375-399. They need around an 50% to pass

Lol. That is ridiculous. Shouldn't a low score be used to provide remediation instead of retaking it to make the school look better?

Yes, but this clearly is not about helping the students. It's about avoiding the obligation to do meaningful, long term remediation.

I don't think k that is a terribly long list considering how many schools there are total in FCPS. I'd also be interested in knowing more about their profiles. Have scores improved? What are the demographics and have they changed?

ACPS has multiple schools that also were partially accredited as of yesterday, one school denied accreditation altogether (J-H), and no schools on par with the top schools in FCPS, which are the best in the state. What was your point?

Those schools are all majority Hispanic. All of them have high farm rates too. Lots of English language learners. Does this surprise anyone that these are underperforming schools?

Doing great at what?

The list of schools in FCPS that aren't fully accredited in FCPS is now down to 9. More than there should be, but better than as of 6/12 and well below the overall state average.

Why isn't J-H on this list? I was surprised it wasn't. Is it because this list is partially accredited?

It's not on the list because the list is only Fairfax county schools

Given the demographics are they "underperforming" or are they simply scoring lower than other schools? Let's look more closely at the data to see if perhaps the English language learners are meeting or exceeding expectations as a group.
