This happened to my friends 7 miscarriages, from IVF, and then the 8th pregnancy stuck with progesterone supplements. |
OP, my luteal phase went from 11 to 14 days by supplementing with 100 mg of B6 daily in tandem with a B complex and my usual prenatal. Don't know if that is what helped me maintain this pregnancy (after many miscarriages), but I was told 11 days was too long so thinking it helped. |
RH +/ - is about the D antigen. I had trouble with E |
Same. I know several people for whom it worked. |
Have you considered or tried acupuncture as well? Twice after miscarriages I tried acupuncture (first time was after 2 consecutive miscarriages at age 36; second time was after miscarriage at age 39). Both times I used acupuncture, I had healthy, successful pregnancies. there are some studies about the benefit of acupuncture and fertility. |
my OB put me on baby aspirin and that was the first time in 5 years and several pregnancies it stuck. I had a healthy baby girl! If you have been tested, whats your mthfr status? |
You want Abassi! |
Same. I used progesterone supplements and it stuck the first time I used them. Very expensive, but worth it. |
get a blood test for antiphospholipid antibodies (also called "sticky blood," Hughes Syndrome). many doctors do not do this test, and it's a common cause of miscarriages and there is an easy fix. |
This doesn't make sense. All IVF patients take progesterone. Her first 6 pregnancies with IVF would have use progesterone. Maybe you meant IUI? |
I'm in the same boat. Had a second miscarriage in 3 months last week. I have a follow-up with my OB next week but I already know I'm facing an up hill battle since she wants to just chalk it up to "bad luck." She says that miscarriage is so common they normally don't test until 3 but everything I'm reading is saying that some doctors consider it 2. I can't go through this a third time and then find out something is wrong and with all of the stats out there, I can't really believe this is just bad luck...at least not with some testing.
I had a D&C so they're testing the baby but if that doesn't show anything, I want to have some of the other tests here mentioned. I've heard Abassi is great but will she see me after "only" 2? |
I saw Sacks in that practice after 2. Went on to have 2 more with him. He did all sorts of testing but it ended up being bad luck. All sorts of testing. I got pregnant easily so he said I could just keep trying - he suspected eventually one would stick. And this one has. |
Thanks, that actually makes me feel better. I'll give their office a call. |
Could be chromosomal given age...I'm not sure whether you've ruled that out or you're just looking for other ideas |
Deficient progesterone, thyroid issues, infections, clotting issues, some fibroids.. there are so so many possible causes. I'm sure I forgot many of them. Hugs, you're not alone. |
