OP where are you going?
I've made the trp down to 95 by going down to raleigh durham. taking 15 through culpepper farmville the beltway through Fredricksburg just sucks... |
oh god, awful. |
| NP. Does it make a difference if you're talking about Saturday morning, versus a weekday morning? |
| If we are going on a weekday, we leave between 5 and 6. I wouldn't leave later than that. |
Completely agree. By 6:30 the traffic can get really heavy. We were awfully surprised last summer to discover this...sigh. |
| Is it the same for Sunday? Or is it a bit better? |
| Do you have a couple of Sundays before you go? Maybe pull up Waze and Drive at a couple of different times of the morning and see what the routes and time estimates are. I am the poster 2 up about 6:30 am and that was a weekday. Surprised the heck out of us. |
| Definitely use Waze. We just went to Hilton Head and used to plan trip based on what time we wanted to get there and it updates based on traffic incidents. |
| Sundays leaving by 6 am is fine. Just did it this past Sunday. Smooth sailing |

Check Google Maps Directions for your route, you can choose start or arrival times and different days of the week and will show you estimated time based on past history.

| Follow up: is there a time on Sunday it doesn't suck to drive home? Seems like you're just doomed. |
