This. |
+1. I'm yes to all but I don't consider myself knowledgeable about classical music. I just like what I like for all genres. And I love Nirvana. |
| I don't really understand why op is so hostile. Op, you are angry about someone asking about classical music on dcum? And you're hell bent on proving nobody knows anything about it? And you're really riled up about it? Am I understanding this correctly? |

1. Did you ever play an orchestral instrument? Yes
2. If yes to 1, what age did you start and what age did you quit? Age 10 to age 18 3. If there was an orchestra at your high school, were you in it? Yes 4. If yes to 3, what year in high school were you when made it into the top orchestra if ever? Sophomore (grade 10) 5. Did you ever participate in any all-state orchestras? Yes 6. If so, what years? 1978, 1979, and 1980 |
Completely agree. I'd go so far as to aa op is being a music elitist. Why isn't op asking about music appreciation courses, what winds are in playlists or what their favorite radio stations are or when they went to their last performance? Based on ops bad rradkning people are only true lovers of anything if they have fine it in their lives - sports, visual arts, architecture, gardens, cooking - anything. Op, your reasoning is so flawed it is laughable. |
| That's a lot of bizarro irrationality packed into one post, OP. Check in with your pdoc. |
I think it's sad. Coming on to a parenting to boast and feel superior about a hobby that other may or may not choose to follow, how ridiculous. |
| Dork. |
LOL! Yeah OP get over to the food forum and tell us we can't taste tasty food that we don't know how to cook. |

You must have a lot of time on your hands to post something like this.
I played the violin since I was 8. Played in two orchestras from 4-12th grade, then played in two in college. Loved it! Wish I had the opportunity to play as an adult. Also, I don't know much at all about classical music. |
| My husband posts to DCUM and performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for seven years. What's on your professional resume, OP? |
LOL, this is the classical music equivalent of "I liked their early stuff but then they sold out". Don't worry, PP, we are super impressed with you so you can stop lecturing now! |
But I heard he didn't make all state in his home state of California, until sophomore year. So, he's clearly not all that. I hope he doesn't post any opinions about classical music! |
