| It was sooooo bad! |
| Dancing is terrible too! |
| Now I want to watch the real one. Why was the dancing so bad?? |
| That ending was weird. |
| What was with the ending? Why?? |
|
I have never seen the original but I watched the last hour and thought it was pretty bad. The ending was horrible.
Also, baby was cast so poorly-has nothing to do with her weight, she just didn't seem to fit the part. |
| The original was good because of the sex appeal and chemistry. The remake has neither. |
| Did it reach "so bad it's good" territory? If so, I'm so disappointed I missed it! |
|
Watched it for a few mins. during a Survivor commercial and it was definitely cringe worthy. Reminds me of when my kid's HS drama club did Dirty Dancing, that's how bad the acting was.
|
| DH and I had it on last night and got some good laughs. So bad! Abigail Breslin is a terrible actor. DH was like, is she pregnant? why is she dancing like that?? But we really lost it when everyone was mouthing the words to "I had the time of my life" at the end. It was amusing to say the least! |

SPOILER
What was the ending that a pp said was weird in the remake? I didn't see the remake. |
+1 |
+1 Wow, was he good looking. Funny story. I was actually at college near the location where Dirty Dancing was filmed. I remember some of the girls that I knew getting so excited about going over to watch the filming and maybe get the opportunity to be an extra in the movie. I could not have been less interested. Now when I look at Patrick Swayze...swoon. I could have seen him making at least some of these scenes if I had played my cards right. Darn it! |
No it was terrible. Actually even more terrible than people are saying and I was someone who actually didn't mind the TV adaptation of Grease or Sound of Music. The acting was all around bad; not even sure you could call it acting. I hated how it seemed like the actors watched the original just tried to speak/say things just like the original versus making the character their own also agree that there was zero chemistry between Johnny and baby and that alone ruined things. The scene with their first sexual encounter was beyond awkward. |
Spoiler alert! At the end of the big dancing scene it cuts to Baby watching the movie in a theater, looking older and a bit tired but with a full face of makeup and an Ann Taylor wrap dress. Johnny comes up to her and they have a super awkward reunion chat where she compliments him on his success with the film and he thanks her for inspiring him to go for his dream Broadway career. Then her husband and daughter come out and they both continue to look at each other awkwardly. |
