ASA - kid dropped down ever get back up?

Do kids from ADP ever make it on to the travel teams at ASA? If so, are they only looked at for the lower travel teams?

My DD went straight from ADP to White after the first year of ADP. At least two others went to Blue. Right now the Red team has two former ADP players.

Excuse my cynicism, I have a u12/13 age range son that just made the move from white team to red team.

However, so did essentially his entire white team (because of DA).

Looking at the U12/13 rosters:

New red team: all white players, few blue
New White team: all blue players, few black
New Blue team: couple Blue, mostly black, few silver.

Does anyone else see the irony? So now the former white team is no longer training with advanced players, they are scrimmaging former blue/black. In CCL, the new red teams will still be playing the same teams as last year (the b teams at other CCL clubs that had the same thing happen).

I don't see it as "these kids trained hard and were rewarded with promotion". They are the same teams just new color.

It's good that the addition of DA has allowed kids that used to be traditionally cut in large numbers to continue playing travel, but I'm not sure how it is a benefit to the upper group.

Maybe I'm missing something? If so, can somebody please enlighten me?

Side note prior to the enlightenment activities: Am feeling that something similar happened in Vienna (which just joined the VDA), where some of the new red teams could lose by 20 in the VPL. Status gets defined down, and so does the quality of the teams. This is fine.

Excuse my ignorance but what other CCL club has boys DA such that "the same thing happens" as at Arlington? I'm not aware of one.

^^Loudoun and McLean also having DA at that age also pulling the A team out of CCL and the regular travel training sessions.

More so than in past years, DA will be a big hit to the regular travel team. It started late for some age groups so going forward I would expect to see a drop in talent/level of play as the lower teams are the new higher teams.

Then, when that happened they felt it necessary to make DA teams in the younger years at Clubs. Travel teams in clubs with DA will get continue to get weaker as the program rolls out and more kids are absorbed into DA.

Until (as is starting to happen) there are so many 'pre-Club DA teams' that DA than no longer means anything at all these Clubs and they have to come up with something else. And so on and so on and so on...

No. You got the spin. As did my son, when he said 'wow--it's our entire team'. He's happy to be with former teammates, but even the kids realize it was just a shift.

I'm generally curious if others in same boat as my child feel it's a disadvantage to not have the pool of kids to train against.

The coach is the same for U12 DA and U12 Red and White teams, right? So, maybe they will train together.
