delaying ttc because of swine flu

Yes, thanks PP. I had a baby after being very, VERY sick with the flu in my first/second trimester. Baby and I are fine and healthy now.

It is good to be informed. But go forward with your life. There was a swine flu epidemic in Europe when I was conceived, and that didn't stop my mom from bringing me into the world.

I actually just had H1N1 (swine flu). I am careful (I wash my hands regularly and got the flu shot) but there's only so much you can do. I take the METRO and have a 20 month old son who is in contact with other kids at Gymboree classes and the park (although he's not in daycare). So, it's definitely a possibility of getting it in this area.

That being said, I don't think I'd wait. While it's a risk to an unborn baby, I think the risk that you'll get it and the risk that it will harm the baby is not large enough to deter me from TTC as planned.

Good luck!
