WWYD- Short term transportation issue

If there's a shower facility there, that's a huge bonus. I definitely wouldn't invest a lot of money into alternative options if this is a short-term issue.

5 minute mile - that's impressive

50 minutes to run it is very reasonable

Is zipcar an option?

depends on how much you can bill. What is considered within reason? Also depends onwhat those 6 miles are like (busy road, bike lane?) I'd probably bike if there is a relatively safe route. A 6 mile run, is a decent run for most people and you aren't going to do that both ways, it would also require keeping a good amount of clothing at work as you can't carry too much when running 6 miles.

Why not look into lease swap. You take over a lease with a year to go and than turn in the car at the end.

The other option is spend $5-$7k on a civic or corolla and than sell it when you are done. You would probably barely lose any money and have a second car for a bit.

This is just a question but do you happen to have the cash to buy a car, and would you have to pay to park it at either end? Home or work?

I ask because in terms of total cost, if parking is free and you can get a clunker $5k Toyota Corolla or something, and then sell it at the end, it might be cheaper and less hassle in total cost than uber or rental or biking.

Plus you'd have it in the weekends.

I say this is someone who went for six years with only one car between me and my husband. We found that when we got to the second kid is when we had to break down and get a second car.

There's a shower facility OP can use if he bikes or runs to work, right?
