Solution rather than carrying two phones?

My coworker uses a dual SIM phone, like one of those here:

Then both numbers ring on the same phone, and you choose which number to use when calling out or texting.

The grass is always greener, OP, remember that.

We're issued one through work that we have to turn over from time-to-time to have examined. We have very strict rules about keeping personal calls/texts/surfing off the work phone. The best aspect is that I silence it on Friday evening and ignore it until Monday morning.

At my last job I just had one phone for everything and the reach-ability became a problem. The excuse of "it was the weekend" for why I didn't reply to a work text earned the stink eye many a time.

I carry two phones. Because of security issues we are no longer allowed to have our work email on personal cells nor can I have personal email/apps on the work phone. So I am stuck with two phones. Welcome to the new world of cyber security

I still carry 2, and I prefer it.

I simply leave my home phone in my purse at work, so I'm not interrupted during the work day (Either my nanny or DH can deal with calls from school- I'm too far away to be of use)

On the weekend, I plug my work phone in and don't carry it with me. I check it maybe once a day. I too need to be reachable, but there is nothing at mine or anyone's job (except for an on call dr.) that should require you to check your work phone constantly over the weekend.

I have 2. I'm not comfortable having all of my personal stuff on my work phone. The work phone is the property of my company and they can ask to have it at any time and audit it if they so desire.

It's a little annoying, but not that big of a deal.

Reasons why I carry two:

1. I didn't want to lose my personal cell number that I have had for years and given to countless people from family to colleagues to my kids' friends parents.

2. I don't want to give my work number to people like my kids' friends parents.

3. I wanted to keep my personal texts off my work phone but they are so benign I really don't care about that any more.

Anyone else in the same boat?

I have 2 phones. I don't want my work & personal lives to become "united". My solution is I don't take the work one with me if I'm "off." So, it's off on the weekend. It's off at 6 PM. And I surely don't carry it with me.

Since they pay, do they have the legal right to go through your phone or access your data in any way?
