THe bill referenced above isn't going anywhere.
However DeVos does want to expand vouchers generally - starting with the existing DC program for low income students. She has also praised the a special needs voucher program in Florida. The controversy with Florida, aside from the quality of the schools that will accept the vouchers, is that the schools do not have to abide by the IDEA. Some parents didn't realize that by accepting the voucher they had signed away their IDEA rights. |
