I really like it! |
I love it. Was popular in the 70's so a lot of my contemporaries are Erica's (I know 5 and I am 43). I totally agree that it is a great name, not common and easy to pronounce. I also love Erin for this reason. |
Likewise I know a fair number of mid 30s Ericas but none of this generation. It is a nice name, pretty, different, but not trying too hard. |
The only one I know is 27. It's a nice name, but I skew a little more traditional. No one is going to dislike this name. |
I knew a million Ericas as a kid. I must have not liked them because I hate the name. ![]() |
well, I have a 2.5 year old Erica ![]() And she is the sweetest child ever. Just a ray of sunshine. My requirements for a name were close to OPs. I wanted a name everyone knew but wasn't in heavy usage right now. I disliked being one-of-many as a kid, so I tried to stay way far away from the top of the SSA list. I actually tried to stay below #500 - yes, seriously. My other daughter is named Hilarie. Other names that were considered over time - Veronica (this was our top pick for Erica - until she came out and it just was too much name for such a cute little baby), Dana, Evie, Tanith, Heather, Felicia/Felice, Lana, Dawn, Laurel. |
I like! As long as you don't spell it like "Airwrecka" LOL |
Plus 1 |
I have a good friend who absolutely detests this name for some reason. Almost 13 years later, she is still apalled that Monica & Chandler from Friends named their baby daughter Erica ![]() |
Plus 2. But I also hate names like Erin. Just go with what you and dh like, at least it's a normal name. |
I dislike it as well but have to wonder if that has something to do with the fact that Erica was the name of the meanest girl in both my class & my sister's class. |
Very nice. I don't know a lot of them, which is a plus in my opinion. |
Haha... My name is Erin and my sister is Erika. My parents liked both of these |
To me it's not a very pretty name. Erin is better. |
