What job titles to look for in fed govt?

What does your title matter anyway? As long as you get in at GS-15, you'll be on the same pay scale as someone that's been in government that has a "manager" or "deputy director" title.

I worked at a prestigious agency where lots of partners from law firms got hired. Almost all of them started as regular line attorneys. Some still are in that position, others got promoted eventually.
