St John in July - perfect or crazy?

The difference between 80 and 90 is huge when you've spent a lot of money, time, and energy getting yourself there. I hate sitting on the beach when it's 90 +. It's just not pleasant. I would never go in the summer. February or early March, period.

Have you been there in the summer? Statistically not a lot of hurricanes in July.

Its not insanely hot. Its hotter here. And the likelihood of a hurricane is small.

+1. Have the "crazy" posters actually been there in the summer?

I should add we've also gone in April and it was lovely. So "never again" is referring to the summer. I have asthma and had a difficult time breathing with the killer humidity. I don't think temps were all that much higher than our previous trip, but the humidity was crazy.

It's hot and humid in July but I found it more pleasant than DC weather. Not crazy at all!

I've been to Jamaica in early Feb. once and in April once. I'll let you guess which one was much more pleasant.

I'd say somewhere in between perfect and crazy. The weather is a bit more pleasant in the winter months but on the flip side the water is warmer in summer (and calm unless there's a storm). Crowds are thinner and rates are cheaper. It's a trade off.
