Personally, I don't think you get the full study abroad experience if you're in an English-speaking country.

I think it's best when you enroll directly in another school rather than one of those programs where you're just with other americans and squatting in a foreign school.

I went to Ireland and it was incredible. I went to an Irish school and lived with Irish housemates, rather than doing a program that just transplanted Americans to Ireland.

You can't go wrong, just pick somewhere that interests you and where you can take classes that will help you graduate on time. I've studied abroad or worked in China, Argentina and Chile. I loved each experience. I found there to be more separation between foreign and native students in China but that it was so much easier to make local friends and somewhat integrate into the culture in Latin America.

It is very difficult to find such a situation that will enable you to transfer credits to your home school.
