Ivanka Trump and family are crummy neighbors in Kalorama

And I'll bet you this - she had no idea the secret service had the no parking signs posted. She has no control over that. She is from a city. I'm sure it doesn't occur to her that people with garages and driveways ALSO want there to be street parking.

I'm no fan of any of the Trumps, but this is completely stretching things. The article was ridiculous - who gives a shit if Don and his wife wrote a note on fancy stationery?

Agree. The whole article makes these people seem like a bunch of Richie Riches that can't believe their new neighbors aren't falling all over themselves with excitement to meet them. Like it's the first time they've ever encountered people that don't give a shit about them.

+ !. It's the washington post. Need I say more?

+100. I am the first one to criticize Trump and his entire tacky family when deserved. But this article and the neighbors quoted sound ridiculously petty. Ivanka has no control over the Secret Service, for heaven's sake.

Well this is a NIMBY neighborhood in the first place. She wasn't wanted there anyway, and she's done nothing to try to change that. 95% of us don't want her father in the White House, either. And you know what, I'm sure she can tell the Secret Service to try not to act like such assholes. I'm SURE she could. Take away two or three SUVs and the situation would be much improved.

So ... you want the secret service guys to ... carpool into their job posts? I don't know crap about how the secret service works but I'm guessing they're just trying to do their job of covering her and her family, not annoy neighbors. And the neighbors complained about the dumbest things - men changing their shirts outside? Horrors! Someone may have seen a nipple! Hell, I once took off my shirt right at a restaurant table when my DD puked all over it. I hope Don and his wife are embarrassed at how uptight they come across.

No, folks complained. The issues is that The Post didn't write an insispid article about it.
Also, PP, I would be happy to introduce you to Mr. Comma and Mr. Period. They're lovely and can bring such clarity to your communication.

Yeah, having tons of huge SUVs blocking your street at all times sounds absolutely idyllic.

No one is saying it isn't annoying for them but they come off as pretty ridiculous in the article. The bit about the stationary makes me think the writer wanted these people to seem silly and out of touch.

THIS! I get that they're annoyed. But damn, I did cringe when read the part about how the neighbors wrote the letter. I was embarrassed for them.

You'd think the neighbors would be happy to have them around.

It means no car break-ins on that block.

Something the rest of us in "nice" neighborhoods here in DC would like to have.

I'm near 18th and Park Rd NW, and our cars have been broken into so many times we don't even lock them anymore.

I would LOVE to have Ivankah living on our street.

Awwww. You two could be BFFs! (Gag). But, she might want you to learn how to spell her name.

Don't you think it's odd that Ivanka's rental is owned by a Chilean billionaire who is currently involved in a lawsuit against the US Govt? Doesn't anyone do a background check on the property owner? Ooh, and he bought the house in Nov.

Why would I care about how her name is spelled? It's not like we're going to be pen-palls or something.

I just want our cars to stop getting broken into.

Why is that deserving of snark and ridicule?

Obama has shut down an entire 2 blocks of Kalorama and no one says anything. What the Secret Service did there is far worse than what Kushner & Co

He was elected president. She wasn't elected anything.
