Tell the coworker you are having trouble getting all the work done in as friendly a manner as possible and include him or her in strategies to get it all done. You might suggest this in a note if you're afraid of becoming confrontational.

Then its in the bosses hands and you need to make it stay there...if undeliverable or deadlines are missed its his/her problem not yours. Don't take on the burden alone. The boss gets paid more to manage these kinds of situations.
