Nope. Wouldn't work, because retail businesses are not the only ones impacted. This was attempted in 1973, when I was a kid, and we had to cross streets in the dark at 8:00 a.m. The "experiment," done during the oil crisis to save energy, was abandoned within a couple of weeks (fortunately before a child was killed.) |
