Yes. EST is great for an agrarian society where you have farmers who need the sunlight to work early hours. In an urban society you want more sunlight later for families to enjoy after work hours and to allow workers to patronize businesses after work in daylight instead of darkness. Retail businesses do better with evening daylight than morn8ng daylight so its better for the economy.

Nope. Wouldn't work, because retail businesses are not the only ones impacted. This was attempted in 1973, when I was a kid, and we had to cross streets in the dark at 8:00 a.m. The "experiment," done during the oil crisis to save energy, was abandoned within a couple of weeks (fortunately before a child was killed.)

We should keep it the way it is.

During the cold winter days, I wouldn't want the sun to rise too late like during the great summer days, I want that extra hour of daylight in the evening.
