My mom or dad drove me there and picked me up every single time.

So you were employed, but your parents weren't?

My mom was a teacher and got home in time to get me to any shift starting at 4pm (none started before then on a week day) and my dad picked me up at 7pm after work, or at 9:30 or 11pm - each of the times shifts ended (ice cream was 11pm on Fridays).

Not every 16 year old is mature
Nit everyone can afford the extra insurance
Not everyone has an extra car
Not every teen is interested

Exactly.
