You are so kind to be thinking of her! What a nice friend of the family! You are getting some great ideas.
I would encourage you to think about Skyping her on a regular basis for just a short chat. It can be really hard to be on bed rest and she may / may not be getting a lot of visitors. Even if you think you don't have a lot to talk about, you can come up with enough that a 2-3 minute conversation may lift her spirits. With a couple of prompts, even your little ones may be able to say 'hi' or if you felt comfortable with it you could do a short (like 10 second) video clip of them doing something cute. Best wishes to her for a speedy recovery! |
| Video games like sim city types or Hay Day where things build over time. Good for keeping the challenge. |
| Echo dot. It can access Audible, prime music, answer silly questions, play games etc. |
Not to digress, but specifically what kind of spinal surgery - from an accident, injury, scoliosis? I ask bc I had spinal surgery when i was a teenager...I wasn't bed ridden for a month. In fact, the doc wanted me to move a little each day after I got home. Just saying that your friend's DD might not be as confined as you think. |
That's an awesome idea. |
Yes, this is great because it's voice-activated, so she wouldn't have to sit up to use it, if she has to be on her back. |

Any of the Klutz books are great like making friendship bracelets or crocheting
