Any feedback on Costco kitchen cabinets?

Hi, Yes, I used Costco kitchen cabinets, Nantucket Polar White this past spring to renovate my kitchen. I was a little skeptical but I needed a fast and inexpensive remedy for a house we bought which had a lot of unforeseen expenses. I couldn't waist time or money so I took the chance and was pleasantly surprised. I had to return one cabinet but they sent a replacement in a week. I have lots of pictures on my decorating blog, including photos of the delivery man coming to the end of the driveway and my son's putting the boxes in the back of my van to get them to the front door. http://www.vintageamericanhome.com/hpc/review-costco-wood-cabinetry/ . Good luck!

Can you use the cabinets to make a built in bookcase with cabinet? If not, any ideas?
Chinese cabinets are much better than American cabinets except for the highest luxury level
Could you elaborate ? Why Chinese cabinets are better ? I thought everybody try to stay away from Chinese made cabinetry due to offgasing, formaldehyde ?

I was looking for real feedback on the Costco Tuscan Hills Cabinets when researching for my kitchen and wanted to provide some feedback. I didn't want Home Depot quality so I considered RTA, Semi-Custom, and Custom.

We needed a little more customizing than RTA could offer, and figured Custom would be too expensive. We went through the design process and 2 revisions with Tuscan Hills and found the process fairly drawn-out. It was at least a week before we could schedule another meeting to talk about the changes. Frustrated at not having many options, I called a local custom cabinet shop a friend had used to do a remodel due to a flood caused by a broken pipe. His price was $10,000 cheaper than Tuscan Hills, was 100% custom, and included full installation. He visited our house multiple times taking measurements, and offered some suggestions on changes we were contemplating, and has since fabricated and installed the cabinets. I couldn't have imagined getting a driveway full of Costco cabinets and having to install them hoping they turned out ok.

Don't assume Costco is cheaper. It pays to research options.

Can you share the local custom shop you used?

Yes, please share! I prefer to use local people.

You mean, local owners that use foreign labor? 99% times this is the case in the DMV.

Because Costco would never use foreign labor.

I'm guessing the PP lives in Indiana or Iowa or something.
